Cigarette Tax Exemption goes up in smoke. Colorado's Democrats extract $31 million from taxpayers for government programs

In a final legislative push to take more money from taxpayers to fund government programs, Senate Democrats passed HB09-1342 (22/13) to eliminate the exemption from state sales taxes for cigarettes. This move will funnel an estimated $31 million from taxpayers (primarily the lower income) to Colorado’s general budget. All but one Republican voted NO.

“And the beat goes on.” The hunger for more and more dollars from citizens’ hard-earned salaries and wages to fund an ever-increasing number of government programs, will NEVER end until the politicians have taken all that citizens have to give, or until the citizens finally revolt. TEA-party participants unite!
