This writeup was sent to me recently. I don't know by whom. It appears to be well documented and well worth scrutiny. Since Obama's election, many of have sensed a growing hostility to people of faith, yet are hard-pressed to recall all the examples of his seeming hostility towards Christians and Jews; the daily press of demands in our lives seem to push out our ability to recollect the examples we've all been aware of these past several years.
I submit this to you, with the disclaimer that everything may not be completely accurate, however, as I have read it, my personal recollection has been stimulated. Indeed, I found this startling.
When
one observes President Obama's unwillingness to accommodate America's
four-century long religious conscience protection through his attempts to
require Catholics to go against their own doctrines and beliefs, one is
tempted to say that he is anti-Catholic. But that characterization would not
be correct. Although he has recently singled out Catholics, he has equally
targeted traditional Protestant beliefs over the past four years. So since he
has attacked Catholics and Protestants, one is tempted to say that he is
anti-Christian.
But
that, too, would be inaccurate. He has been equally disrespectful in his
appalling treatment of religious Jews in general and Israel in particular. So
perhaps the most accurate description of his antipathy toward Catholics,
Protestants, religious Jews, and the Jewish nation would be to characterize
him as anti-Biblical. And then when his hostility toward Biblical people of
faith is contrasted with his preferential treatment of Muslims and Muslim
nations, it further strengthens the accuracy of the anti-Biblical descriptor.
In fact, there have been numerous clearly documented times when his pro-Islam
positions have been the cause of his anti-Biblical actions.
Listed below in
chronological order are (1) numerous records of his attacks on Biblical
persons or organizations; (2) examples of the hostility toward Biblical faith
that have become evident in the past three years in the Obama-led military;
(3) a listing of his open attacks on Biblical values; and finally (4) a
listing of numerous incidents of his preferential deference for Islam's activities
and positions, including letting his Islamic advisers guide and influence his
hostility toward people of Biblical faith.
1. Acts of hostility
toward people of Biblical faith:
2. Acts of
hostility from the Obama-led military toward people of Biblical faith:
3. Acts of
hostility toward Biblical values:
4. Acts of
preferentialism for Islam:
Many of these actions
are literally unprecedented for this is the first time they have
happened in four centuries of American history. The hostility of President
Obama toward Biblical faith and values is without equal from any previous
American president.

Recommendations on Primary State and Local Candidates Running for Election in El Paso County. County
This blog entry was forwarded via email to a large number of citizens in El Paso County by Glenna Gilbert with her opening comments below. It is an analysis of candidates compiled by a couple home-school moms with much research and concern that the citizens elect strong moral and upstanding candidates to represent us beginning January 2013. I commend them for their effort and want the readers to know that their recommendations are precisely what I recommend.
The following
information was put together by a couple of stay-at-home, homeschooling moms
who met at their neighborhood caucus in 2006. They have been elected as
Delegates or Alternates each caucus year by their neighbors to the County
Assemblies, 5th Congressional Assemblies and State Assemblies. They like
me (Glenna) like to stay in contact regarding Republican political matters from
a Christian perspective.
Lee and I agree with
their choice of Candidates. The following are the friends we have been not
only been helping and promoting (not just for this election) but for other
reasons which deal with our Ministry over the years. Many are friends we
have Ministered to (or with).... as a result of long time involvement with
either them or their opponents these are the Candidates we have also chosen to
support.
We hope you will give
these Republican Candidates your serious consideration as you prepare to
vote. Many of them we have known since we moved to Colorado Spring in
1985. Lee worked closely with several of them when he was GOP Party Chairman.
We thank you for your consideration of these Candidates.
I stand by the following: If the Moral character of a
people degenerate, their political character must follow. These considerations
should lead to an attentive solicitude to be religiously careful in our choice
of all public officers...and judge of the tree by its
fruits." Elias Boudinot
Who is he? - Elias Boudinot earned considerable fame as
a patriot during the American Revolution. Elected three times to the
Continental Congress from New Jersey, he served as its President in 1782.
Boudinot signed the Treaty of Paris which ended the war, and held a variety of
political offices during the administrations of George Washington and John
Adams. http://www.americanbible.org/elias.html.

oppose our person but they are helpless against our prayers" God

Subject: Our Who's & Why's for the 2012 Primary Election
We are letting you know who we would vote for and why for
the Republican Primary Election ballot only. Please remember, these are
our opinions for El Paso County. Not all of these races will be on your
particular ballot. You have to live in a district to cast a vote in that
district's race. If you do not receive a mail-in ballot by next week,
call the El Paso County Clerk & Recorder's office at 719-575-8683.
All ballots must be received by the El Paso County Clerk
& Recorder's office by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, June 26, 2012 to be
counted. Postmarks do not count as received.
REPRESENTATIVE TO THE 113TH UNITED STATES CONGRESS -
DISTRICT 5
Doug Lamborn
While Doug Lamborn is the incumbent in this race, he's
the rare kind that deserves to be sent back to Washington D.C. WE ARE
VOTING FOR DOUG LAMBORN. We have volunteered for Doug Lamborn since he
first ran in 2006. We know him to be a humble and genuine servant who
stands strong for our values despite the immense pressure brought to bear on
our public officials. He has been ranked as the most conservative member
in Congress for three years in a row (and in five years has never been ranked
lower than the top six out of 435). Doug Lamborn has a 100% lifetime rating
by the American Conservative Union, is endorsed by National Right to Life, and
has received the Annual Spirit of Enterprise Award, Defender of Economic
Freedom Award, Rays of Light in the Darkness Award, Guardian of Small Business,
Most Pro-economic Growth Member, Taxpayers' Friend Award, and Taxpayer
Hero. Do-nothing congressmen are not given these awards. He has a
crucial position on the House Armed Services Committee and is also on the House
Committee on Veterans Affairs, positions that will be lost if he is not
re-elected. He helped lead the effort to ban earmarks and as a result, no
House Republican has requested earmarks in the last three years. All
funding requests Doug Lamborn has made were for military projects for our
district because he believes it is his constitutional responsibility to
"Provide for the Common Defense." He has not used taxpayer money for
important trips, including three in support of Israel. Doug Lamborn is
endorsed by Dr. James Dobson, the Family Research Council, Republican
Congressman Allan West (Florida) (and Fmr. Senator Dave Schultheis. (added by me prior to sending out this blog entry)
It is interesting to us that Robert Blaha decided to
spend a lot of time and money to unseat a truly conservative member of Congress
when there are plenty of liberal officials he could have challenged.
While Blaha does not have a voting record to examine, we think it is
interesting that Blaha himself has voted in only one primary in the last 12
years. We also find it interesting that Blaha is recycling quotes,
recordings and charges from the 2006 Jeff Crank campaign against Doug
Lamborn. In our opinion, his campaign has the same air of angry
desperation that came to characterize Jeff Crank's campaigns in 2006 and
2008. We feel that Blaha's TV and radio commercials and paid phone call
endorsements are lies designed to smear Doug Lamborn and mischaracterize his
record. It is truly shameful to do that to a good and decent man who has
served us so well in Washington D.C.
REGENT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO - AT LARGE
Matt Arnold
This seat is currently held by a Democrat, Stephen
Ludwig, who is the Vice Chair of the nine member board. This position is
a six year term. CU Regents oversee the University of Colorado campus
system and exercise exclusive control and direction of all funds and
appropriations to the university (https://www.cu.edu/regents).
WE KNOW MATT ARNOLD AND ARE VOTING FOR HIM. Matt has concrete plans to
rein in costs of higher education and bring common sense back to college
campuses. You can read about his positions on his website, http://www.arnold4colorado.net/.
Matt founded and ran "Clear The Bench Colorado" in 2010, educating
Colorado citizens about their right to hold our state judges accountable.
Matt currently serves in the Colorado Army National Guard. You must visit
his website to see all the endorsements, but a few are John Andrews, Bill
Armstrong, Bob Schaffer, Dave Schultheis, Kent Lambert and Kevin Lundberg.
Brian Davidson is an Anesthesiologist at the CU Medical
Center and an associate professor of Anesthesiology at CU. We agree with
Matt that, as an employee of CU, it is a conflict of interest for him to be in
the position of controlling and directing CU funds.
REGENT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO - CONGRESSIONAL
DISTRICT 5
Uncontested
STATE SENATE - DISTRICT 10
Owen Hill
This is an anti-incumbent vote even though there is
technically no incumbent for this new Senate District designed by the Democrats
through redistricting. WE WOULD VOTE FOR OWEN HILL if we were in this
district. Owen Hill is a graduate of the Air Force Academy, holds a Ph.D.
in Policy Analysis (Economics) and currently works in the Financial Department
at Compassion International. Owen narrowly lost to Senator John Morse in
2010. He does not have a voting record, but has taken solid stands on
protecting life, gun rights, and right to work and will fight tax and spending
increases and Obamacare. You can read more about his positions on his
website, http://www.owenhill.org/. Among others, Owen Hill is endorsed by Fmr. Senator Dave Schultheis (added by me prior to sending out this blog entry)
Larry Liston has served in the State House of
Representatives for the last 8 years (4 terms) and cannot return because of
term limits so he is now running for Senator. In 2011, Larry Liston
received a 48% out of 100% (25th out of 65 representatives) from the Colorado
Union of Taxpayer or CUT (http://www.coloradotaxpayer.org/).
He sponsored and voted for HB10-1365, Clean Air-Clean Jobs Act, which is
Colorado's version of Cap and Trade. This bill, which is now law, is
anti-coal and mandates the replacement of coal plants with those that have
"clean energy" sources per environmental extremists standards.
If you are bothered that talks are starting about closing the Colorado Springs
Utilities Martin Drake coal plant, it is because of this law.
Your energy costs will "necessarily double"
because Republicans like Liston voted for this bill (approximately $0.04 for
coal and $0.10 for natural gas). He voted for SB11-200, a component of
Obamacare, healthcare exchanges, that will not go away even if Obamacare is
declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. In committee, Larry
Liston voted to kill HB12-1309 which required a check of immigration status
through an online database before anyone is hired, also known as
E-verify. He voted for HB12-1286 which was signed into law and will use
taxpayer money to increase incentives for the film credit program in
Colorado. This year, he was removed from a House Committee for siding
with the Democrats on government regulations to help marijuana sellers.
He was kept off that same committee in the Special Session because he was not
considered a reliable "no" vote on the Civil Unions bill. Larry
Liston held an in-person fundraiser with lobbyists from Planned Parenthood,
National Abortion Rights Action League, the ACLU, and big labor. If this
is who he is taking money from, then it makes sense to us that he will work to
make sure legislation favorable to these organizations passes. As a
previous insurance salesman, Larry Liston is talented at making people feel important
and frequently invites constituents to join him for lunch or other functions at
the Capitol. He is an excellent campaigner, but, in our opinion, his
record does not deserve any conservative's vote.

Marsha Looper
This primary was brought to you courtesy of the Democrat
redistricting. It is between two incumbents, which means they both have
records to compare. WE WOULD VOTE FOR MARSHA LOOPER if we were in this district
(http://www.electmarsha.org/).
In 2011, Marsha Looper received a 76.92% out of 100% (4th out of 65
representatives) from the Colorado Union of Taxpayer or CUT (http://www.coloradotaxpayer.org/).
Marsha Looper did NOT vote for HB10-1365, Clean Air-Clean
Jobs Act, which is Colorado's version of Cap and Trade. She is very
concerned about how much more energy will cost you and what will happen to your
jobs and families when this law shuts down coal-powered plants around Colorado,
but she needs to stay in the House to fight this fight for us. She did
NOT vote for SB10-1330 which established the All Payer Database in Colorado,
requiring private medical information to be centrally collected and used by
third party agencies because she cares about the government staying out of your
personal medical matters.
She sponsored HB12-1309 which required a check of
immigration status through an online database before anyone is hired, also
known as E-verify. This bill was killed by fellow Republican, Larry
Liston.
She has opposed SB11-200, the Colorado Health Benefit
Exchange, from the beginning and sponsored SB12-53, a bill that would have
repealed the SB11-200 if the United States Supreme Court rules any provision of
Obamacare unconstitutional. SB12-53 was killed by the Democrat-controlled
Senate. Marsha Looper passionately argued against an amendment introduced
by Democrat Representative Crisanta Duran to dilute a provision in the budget
that restricts public funds from being used for abortions. House
Republicans defeated this amendment on a party line vote because of Marsha's
stand. Marsha Looper is a tireless voice in Denver for veterans.
She also did everything within her power to defeat Civil Unions by amending it
in the Appropriations Committee during the regular session to protect religious
organizations and counselors who might object. She also recognized the
danger of the Referendum making Section 30b of our Colorado Constitution
obsolete and was instrumental in stopping that from reaching the November
ballot. Marsha Looper has shown us that she is willing to fight hard,
fight well and fight for what is right. Can a voter ask for anything
more? Among others, Rep. Marsha Looper is endorsed by Fmr. Senator Dave Schultheis (added by me prior to sending out this blog entry)
In 2010, when House Republicans received a one vote
majority, they voted Amy Stephens in as the Majority Leader. It was a
tremendous honor for the former employee of Focus on the Family. However,
it is our opinion that Amy Stephens has not handled this position of power well
at all. We feel she used the Republican one vote majority to usher in
legislation that cannot be seen as conservative in any way and has greatly
damaged the Republican label. The overall CUT score for the House under
her leadership was 39% in 2011 and 43% in 2010.
-- this is not a ringing endorsement of conservatism on any level. She
sponsored and voted for HB10-1365, Clean Air-Clean Jobs Act, which is
Colorado's version of Cap and Trade. This bill, which is now law, is
anti-coal and mandates the replacement of coal plants with those that have
"clean energy"
sources per environmental extremists standards. If
you are bothered that talks are starting about closing the Colorado Springs
Utilities Martin Drake coal plant, it is because of this law. Your energy
costs will "necessarily double" because Republicans like Stephens
voted for this bill (approximately $0.04 for coal and $0.10 for natural gas).
She also voted for SB10-1330 which established the All
Payer Database in Colorado, requiring private medical information to be
centrally collected and used by third party agencies. Amy Stephens
continued to abuse the power of her position in 2011. Amy Stephens
sponsored SB11-200, the Colorado Health Benefit Exchange, which implements a
component of Obamacare here in Colorado that will stay in place even if
Obamacare is declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. It is hard
to understand why a former Focus on the Family employee would cast these votes;
however, there seems to be a correlation between her votes and significant
donors who are openly hostile to conservative principles. In 2011, Amy
Stephens received a 50% out of 100% (23rd out of 65 representatives)from the
Colorado Union of Taxpayer or CUT http://www.coloradotaxpayer.org/).
During the 2012 session, it is our opinion that, as part of the House
leadership, Amy Stephens could have been instrumental in preventing the Civil
Unions fiasco, but she did not use her power to do that. While the
Democrat's redistricting will probably result in a Democrat-controlled House next
year, Amy Stephens has given little reason for voters to return the Majority
leadership to Republicans. If you are frustrated by what liberal
lawmakers in Denver are doing, Amy Stephens has to be included in that group
and she should not be returned to continue that legacy. In our opinion,
her record does not deserve any conservative's vote.
STATE REPRESENTATIVE - DISTRICT 20

STATE REPRESENTATIVE - DISTRICT 21
Albert Sweet
This district was left without an incumbent because of
the Democrat redistricting so both candidates are newcomers. WE WOULD
VOTE FOR ALBERT SWEET if we were in this district. Albert Sweet is a
retired Army veteran. He cares about what our Constitutions, both state
and federal, say and supports protecting life, gun rights, and will fight tax
and spending increases. You can read more about his positions on his
website https://www.electalbertsweet.org/.
He has been endorsed by former State Senator Dave Schultheis.
Lois Landgraf is a former Fountain City Councilwoman so
she has more name recognition. She has been a member of the County GOP
Executive Committee so we know her from that realm. She was a member of
the subcommittee formed by the Chairman to investigate the Vice-Chairman in
December 2011. While she did not attend the actual meeting and it was
unclear whether she signed the report that was generated by that subcommittee,
she was part of a process that was totally uncalled for, distasteful, and
divisive. If you like how Larry Liston and Amy Stephens represent you, it
is our opinion that you will probably like Lois Landgraf.
DISTRICT ATTORNEY - 4TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT

COUNTY COMMISSIONER - DISTRICT 2

COUNTY COMMISSIONER - DISTRICT 3
Karen Magistrelli
This is an anti-incumbent vote. WE WOULD VOTE FOR
KAREN MAGISTRELLI if we lived in this district. She is a newcomer and
does not have a voting record to examine. Karen Magistrelli is president
and executive director of High Winds Youth, Inc., a nonprofit Christian
organization that helps male ex-prisoners reintegrate into society.
Because of her experience with the County Commissioners
concerning her organization, she stepped up to this challenge and should be
commended for that. She will be a more conservative voice for taxpayers
on the commission. You can read more about her positions on her website http://electmagistrelli.wikispaces.com/.
She has been endorsed by former State Senator Dave Schultheis.
Sallie Clark was challenged because she supported the
deceptively-worded ballot question that extended term limits for the County
Commissioners. If this ballot question had not passed, Sallie Clark would
be term limited and not able to run this time. In our opinion, Sallie
Clark is the typical progressive out-of-touch politician who deserves to be
retired. Here is just a sample of some of her votes. In December
2007, Sallie Clark voted against lowering the El Paso County property tax
rate. In September 2008, Sallie Clark supported a 1% sales tax increase,
which the voters rejected 59% to 41%. In December 2008, Sallie Clark
voted with the majority to approve Watershed District, which would allow an
unelected entity to impose fees on the citizens. In December 2009, Sallie
Clark voted in the minority to keep tax refunds due to be paid back to tax
payers.
COUNTY COMMISSIONER - DISTRICT 4
Auddie Cox
This is an anti-incumbent vote. WE WOULD VOTE FOR
AUDDIE COX if we lived in this district. He is a newcomer and does not
have a voting record to examine. He served in the military for 25 years
and then worked in corporate America as a computer engineer for Rocky Martin.
He is currently retired. He would never support a
tax increase and would look at feasible ways to cut costs and build
relationships with the city, eliminating duplication if that makes sense and is
financially doable. He cares about increasing fire department response
times throughout the county and wants to address the manning levels in the
sheriff's department. His phone number is 719-492-3254 and his website is
http://www.voteauddiecox.com/. Among others, Auddie Cox is endorsed by Fmr. Senator Dave Schultheis (added by me prior to sending out this blog entry)
Dennis Hisey was challenged because he supported the
deceptively-worded ballot question that extended term limits for the County
Commissioners. He seems like a very nice man, but he votes much the same
way Sallie Clark does and those votes are not in your favor as the
taxpayer. As an example, in September 2008, he also supported a 1% sales
tax increase, which the voters rejected 59% to 41%. Also, as a member
representing El Paso on the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments, on Sep 14,
2005, he voted for the organization's resolution supporting the passage of both
Referendum C, which suspended TABOR spending limits for 5 years meaning the
government got to keep more of your money (passed), and Referendum D, which
would have allowed government to borrow $1.5 billion for transportation, school
maintenance and repairs, and police and firefighter pension funds (failed).
